Description

The Vortis 3D AirRide is built for riders who spend hours in the saddle and refuse to suffer. Its 3D-printed structure — thousands of hexagonal lattice cells — spreads your weight across independent flexing micro-zones, where a regular saddle jams all the pressure onto two bony points and your perineum.

The result: no more numbness, no more hot spots. You get on, you ride, you forget your saddle is even there.

A Solution Exists

Still Standing On The Pedals Every 10 Minutes?

Cyclist with an orange glow on the saddle pressure zone

You know the feeling. Around mile 20, the numbness creeps in. You lift off the saddle every few minutes just to get blood back. You get home, step off the bike, and you're walking funny for the rest of the day.

That's not "getting old" and it's not you being soft. It's your saddle concentrating your entire body weight onto two points and your perineum, compressing the pudendal nerve and the arteries that feed the area. Numbness, tingling, sometimes lower-back pain. Doctors also link long-term compression to erectile issues in men and soft-tissue pain in women, the stuff most riders would rather not think about.

You're tired of cutting rides short, of buying saddle after saddle, or of paying $450 at the bike shop "just to see if it helps." There's something built exactly for this.

How It Works

Why 3D Works When Every Other Saddle Fails

Every "comfort" saddle makes the same mistake: it adds more foam. More foam means more even crush, which means more surface pressing on your perineum. The 3D structure does the opposite.

Macro close-up of the 3D-printed lattice structure
  • Micro-Zoned Weight Distribution

Thousands of independent hexagonal cells. Each one flexes exactly where it needs to. Your sit bones land where it's firm. Your perineum floats where it's hollow. No foam can do that.

  • A Center Channel That's Actually Sized Right

A properly sized center channel cuts perineal oxygen deprivation from 82% down to about 20% (Bisaddle medical data). In plain terms: no more numbness after mile 20.

  • Chromoly Rails Eat Road Buzz

Chromoly soaks up the micro-vibrations that aluminum and titanium rails pass straight through. On rough roads, gravel and long days, it changes everything.

Built For How You Ride

Built For The Rides You Actually Do

Long-Distance Road

40 to 130-mile rides without the every-30-minutes hover ritual. No more limping at the finish. No more counting down to the next cafe stop just to sit on a chair that doesn't hurt.

  • 40–130 mi with zero numbness
  • No more standing every 30 min
  • No limping at the finish

Gravel & Endurance

6, 8, 12 hours in the saddle. The 3D structure kills the hot spots that show up after hour 4. Chromoly rails absorb the washboard that pros ride at Unbound and Steamboat.

  • Zero hot spots past hour 4
  • Holds on chatter & washboard
  • Built for ultra-distance
Indoor trainer / Zwift setup with the AirRide saddle

Indoor / Peloton / Zwift

You never shift position, so pressure stays in one spot for 1-2 hours. That's exactly where the AirRide makes the biggest difference vs your stock trainer or Peloton saddle. Riding upright on a Peloton or hybrid? The 155 mm wide fit is the one to pick.

  • Constant pressure handled
  • Works on any trainer
  • 1–2 h sessions pain-free

Myth-Busting

What Riders Actually Ask

"Isn't this just a $40 AliExpress version?"

The cheap ones are 3D-printed in one uniform density. Ours is micro-zoned: firm under sit bones, hollow at the perineum. Same lattice math the $450 Specialized S-Works Mirror uses. And we back it with 60 days of real riding. Try that with a no-name.

"Won't it go soft or the matrix break down?"

Foam packs down because foam is a closed structure. Every ride crushes it a little more. An open lattice can't "pack down." It flexes and rebounds, same as day one. Rain, mud, sweat: the open cells don't soak. The 60-day guarantee covers real-world abuse.

"Looks hard. Where's the padding?"

Padding is not comfort. Foam looks comfy and crushes under your sit bones onto your perineum — that's the numbness. The AirRide is firm exactly where your sit bones sit, and floats the soft tissue. Comfort is where the pressure isn't, not where the cushion is.

"Numbness is just part of cycling, right?"

It's not. It's nerve compression, a mechanical problem with a mechanical fix. Tour de France pros were the first to switch to 3D lattice for exactly this reason. If it worked for them at 4-hour stage speeds, it works for your century.

365km at Unbound and I never once felt compelled to stand up. God send after 5+ hours. Best hundred bucks I've spent on cycling.

My Peloton seat was a torture device. Swapped to the AirRide. First time in two years I finish a class without pain. Full stop.

The boys stay awake during the ride, if you know what I mean. Been quietly worried about that for a while. Wife noticed too. That's all I'll say.

Rode a full century last month and got off feeling fine. First time ever. Game changer. Wish I'd found this before I paid $200 for a bike fit.

Was going to buy the Specialized $450 one. Tried this instead. Rode six weeks. Never sending it back. 3D lattice is the tech, not the brand.

FAQ

Questions, Answered.

How do I know it will fit my anatomy?
The Vortis AirRide comes in two widths. 145 mm fits most road, gravel and MTB riders: it's the same width class as most performance saddles, and because the lattice compresses under each sit bone instead of pushing back like foam, a 145 lattice covers a wider range of riders than a 145 foam saddle. 155 mm is the wide fit, for riders with sit bones over 130 mm apart or a very upright position (hybrid, Peloton, cruiser-style). Not sure? Start with the 145. Either way you have 60 days to ride it, and if it doesn't work for your body, full refund.
Which width should I choose, 145 or 155?

Quick rule: if you've been comfortable on standard road or gravel saddles (140 to 145 mm) and your issue is numbness, take the 145. If you've always needed wide or "comfort" saddles, ride very upright, or a bike fitter measured your sit bones above 130 mm, take the 155. If you own a sit-bone measurement, add about 20 mm to it and pick the closest width. And if you get it wrong, the 60-Day Ride-It Guarantee covers the swap: email us and we'll sort it out.

Need two different widths? No problem. Add each width to your cart separately and the Duo or Trio pricing will still apply automatically.

Men or women, same saddle?
Same saddle. The center channel is wide enough for male anatomy and shaped to relieve soft-tissue pressure for women. Gendered saddles are mostly marketing, pressure mapping shows both sexes benefit from the same open-channel design. Both widths are unisex.
How fast will I feel a difference?
Most riders feel it on the first ride over 30 minutes. Numbness relief is immediate because you're not compressing the pudendal nerve anymore. Sit-bone comfort may take 2 to 3 rides as your body adjusts to being supported firmly instead of sinking into foam.
Does it fit my road / gravel / MTB?
Yes. Standard 7 mm round rails work with 99% of seatposts, road to MTB. One Allen key, five minutes. If your current saddle came off, this one goes on.
Works on Peloton / Zwift / trainer?
Especially well. On a trainer you never shift position, so pressure builds in one spot for 1 to 2 hours. The 3D lattice is designed for exactly that use case. Peloton riders report the biggest single upgrade from the stock saddle.
Is there a break-in period?
No break-in. The lattice is not foam, it doesn't need to "soften up." What it needs is 2 to 3 rides for your body to trust that firm support at the sit bones is actually more comfortable than sinking into a cushion.
Vibration vs foam. Really different?
Yes, because it's not the saddle body absorbing vibration, it's the chromoly rails. Aluminum and titanium rails pass road buzz straight to you. Chromoly flexes at the right frequency to soak it up. On gravel and rough roads it's the single biggest comfort change.
How do returns work?
60 days of real riding. Rain, mud, gravel, full miles, it doesn't matter. If it doesn't hold its promise, email support@myvortis.com, we send you the return instructions, you ship the saddle back (used is fine, no repackaging required), and we refund every dollar within 5 to 7 days of receiving it.
